It is the month of February and we all know what it’s about. It’s the Love Month! And if the Christmas Season was abuzz with Quick Response code marketing campaigns left and right, we wouldn’t want to leave the Valentine Season behind.
So, the award for the first Valentine QR Code campaign we’ve spotted goes to… Bridgewater Commons Mall!
The mall started a promotion called “Where is the Love?” on February 1, encouraging its shoppers to use their smartphones to find love. Shoppers need to look for love-themed Quick Response codes hidden all throughout the mall and to scan these using the QR code reader app on their handsets.
Shoppers will know that they have found the right QR codes if these are embedded on cupids, hearts and red lips. Scanning a code will take a shopper to a page that automatically qualifies him or her for the sweepstakes. He or she will get the opportunity to win a $10 Shop Etc. Mall Gift Card, of which the mall will be giving away 30.
Participants will also get the chance to win the grand prize, which is a 7-day, 6-night vacation to Kauai in Hawaii. The winner gets to take one companion, and they will stay at the Kauai Marriott Resort on the beautiful Kalapaki Beach. The prize also includes round trip airfare for two, airport transfers and hotel accommodations.
The mall explains that a shopper’s first scan of a particular QR code creates one entry for him or her into the sweepstakes. The second scan will award five additional entries, and the third scan will award 10 more entries.
Bridgewater Commons Mall says that they will be giving shoppers hints as to where the codes are located. And, guess what, the hints can be found on the mall’s Facebook page. We say that’s another example of how you can integrate your QR code campaign with your social media marketing campaign.
The mall’s Valentine promo will last until Feb. 14.
